Kathi Appelt is the author of over thirty books for children and young adults. She serves on the faculty at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her books have won numerous awards, including the Irma and Simon Black Award, Children’s Choice Award, Best Books for Young Adults, and many others.

A R T I S T   S T R A N D : Adam Gustavson

Adam Gustavson is the award-winning illustrator of over fourteen books for children, as well as the original serialized debut of John Grisham’s A Painted House.

His work has appeared in numerous magazines and advertising campaigns, as well as the Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts. He teaches illustration and design at Seton Hall University, gives private painting lessons to gifted high school students, and maintains a full time art studio in the attic of his small mock-tudor house in New Jersey, where he lives with his charming wife and two sons.
